Have you read about the Red Car Theory? Well maybe it could be responsible for how you select your priorities. The new year is very young and it is important how you choose to set your focus for the year and what the goal ought to be. Whether you accept it or not, something or someone has a hand in the choices you are making. Ultimately, you make the final decision and it is important you become aware of what is influencing your decision so you know whether these choices are actually yours or they are externally influenced.
The Red car theory simply states that… wait, let’s start with an example. Imagine you decide to buy a red car this year. For a strange reason, you start seeing red cars all around. Were they always there? YES!, except that your attention was not on them so you couldn’t see it. It is not that all of a sudden there is an influx of red cars on the N1 highway, the red cars had been plying the highway all this while, your focus was just not on them.
I remember when I decided to buy Toyota Yaris (I ended up not buying it anyway), I somehow started noticing all the Toyota Yaris on the highways. I started noticing the various garages that had Toyota Yaris around Lapaz and these gossiping advertisers started bombarding my every Google search for Toyota Yaris ads. Were the dealers importing more Toyota Yaris because of me? Of course not! They had always been in the system, I just did not notice them.
In truth, this phenomenon can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. If your focus is on opportunities, you start to see more. Your subconsciousness tries to draw your attention to all the opportunities around you that you had not noticed all the while. The opposite is very true. Don’t forget what the Bible says ” As a man thinketh, so he is. (Proverbs 23:7).
The red car theory simply states that once something is on your mind, your brain subconsciously seeks it out. Your brain makes all the effort to ensure that you achieve that thing. The big question then is, what are you focusing on this year? What is this red car you are trying to buy? Do you see gloom and hardship in this year? Well, don’t be too surprised when you see too many coming your way. By doing that, you set your mind to subconsciously invite trouble. Why don’t you set your mind on good things? Believe that in this year you will grow in every aspect of your life and direct your mind to assist you. Be alert to see all the opportunities coming your way, it could be more than a coincidence!
I hope this was helpful. Thank you for reading
